SG problem

Well anyway highway, this post is just an update ng mga pangyayari.

Gusto nia ako bahala sa pamasahe from airport to the hotel na binook nia. Like seriously????!!!

Isang swelduhan na agad yung gagastusin ko for the transpo palang...

I know this should not be a biggie to others pero sa akin syempre, ang perang pinagpaguran ay kayamanan.

-Airport to Resortsworld
-resortsworld to orchard
-orchard to chinatown
-chinatown to hotel
-resortsworld to mustafa
-mustafa to airport

Batang X

Kamusta na mga madlang pips? Marahil nag-eenjoy kayo sa inyong long weekend. Well, ko naman ay nasa long boredom. lols. Walang magawa, laging nakatunganga at parang timawa.

5. Control- Walang real name ang batang to kasi he is so anonymous.

O para knows nio kung ano itsura nila in colored and black and white pic, heto tingnan sa ibaba.

Hayyys.... Wala langs. Nakaka-miss ang childhoods. Wakokokkok. O cia, hanggang dito na lang muna. TC and enjoy the ever long weekend!

Heto at kumuha ako ng limang pics as inspiration. :D

Happy Sunday to all. TC!

Ka-nosebleed. lols.

Language, learning, identity, privilege

Ithink
By JAMES SORIANO
August 24, 2011, 4:06am

MANILA, Philippines — English is the language of learning. I’ve known this since before I could go to school. As a toddler, my first study materials were a set of flash cards that my mother used to teach me the English alphabet.

My mother made home conducive to learning English: all my storybooks and coloring books were in English, and so were the cartoons I watched and the music I listened to. She required me to speak English at home. She even hired tutors to help me learn to read and write in English.

In school I learned to think in English. We used English to learn about numbers, equations and variables. With it we learned about observation and inference, the moon and the stars, monsoons and photosynthesis. With it we learned about shapes and colors, about meter and rhythm. I learned about God in English, and I prayed to Him in English.

Filipino, on the other hand, was always the ‘other’ subject — almost a special subject like PE or Home Economics, except that it was graded the same way as Science, Math, Religion, and English. My classmates and I used to complain about Filipino all the time. Filipino was a chore, like washing the dishes; it was not the language of learning. It was the language we used to speak to the people who washed our dishes.

We used to think learning Filipino was important because it was practical: Filipino was the language of the world outside the classroom. It was the language of the streets: it was how you spoke to the tindera when you went to the tindahan, what you used to tell your katulong that you had an utos, and how you texted manong when you needed “sundo na.”

These skills were required to survive in the outside world, because we are forced to relate with the tinderas and the manongs and the katulongs of this world. If we wanted to communicate to these people — or otherwise avoid being mugged on the jeepney — we needed to learn Filipino.

That being said though, I was proud of my proficiency with the language. Filipino was the language I used to speak with my cousins and uncles and grandparents in the province, so I never had much trouble reciting.

It was the reading and writing that was tedious and difficult. I spoke Filipino, but only when I was in a different world like the streets or the province; it did not come naturally to me. English was more natural; I read, wrote and thought in English. And so, in much of the same way that I learned German later on, I learned Filipino in terms of English. In this way I survived Filipino in high school, albeit with too many sentences that had the preposition ‘ay.’

It was really only in university that I began to grasp Filipino in terms of language and not just dialect. Filipino was not merely a peculiar variety of language, derived and continuously borrowing from the English and Spanish alphabets; it was its own system, with its own grammar, semantics, sounds, even symbols.

But more significantly, it was its own way of reading, writing, and thinking. There are ideas and concepts unique to Filipino that can never be translated into another. Try translating bayanihan, tagay, kilig or diskarte.

Only recently have I begun to grasp Filipino as the language of identity: the language of emotion, experience, and even of learning. And with this comes the realization that I do, in fact, smell worse than a malansang isda. My own language is foreign to me: I speak, think, read and write primarily in English. To borrow the terminology of Fr. Bulatao, I am a split-level Filipino.

But perhaps this is not so bad in a society of rotten beef and stinking fish. For while Filipino may be the language of identity, it is the language of the streets. It might have the capacity to be the language of learning, but it is not the language of the learned.

It is neither the language of the classroom and the laboratory, nor the language of the boardroom, the court room, or the operating room. It is not the language of privilege. I may be disconnected from my being Filipino, but with a tongue of privilege I will always have my connections.

So I have my education to thank for making English my mother language.

Nagdugo ba mga ilonglong nio? ako oo. So ano reaction ninyo? Well?

May 2 sides of the coin, may pros at cons sabi nga ng iba. (wow, me gantong factore? yes, meron na). Sa katulad ng author na tila namuhay sa marangya at sosyal na life, masasabi nga nia na it's like the language of the kalye. Pero pero pero, may mali padin on how he deliver the article.

TC!

Final Destination 5

Kahaps, in celebration ng 2 years in blogging world (me ganun?), ako ay nagdecide na ilibre ang sarili at manood ng sine. Wakokokokk. May ganun pa akong nalalaman e minsan naman talaga nanonood me ng sine mag-isa. :p

Well anyway, ang showing for this week ay Tween Academy, Cars 2, Conan, one day at Final destination 5. Ayoko ng tweeny thingy at one day at di ko kilala mga characters ng cars 2 so namili ako between Conan the Barbarian or Final Destination 5.

Lols.

Score for this movie? mga 8. Ahahaha. I just love the bloodshed and creepy scenes. :p

Jollibee University Float

I'm celebrating my 2nd year here in the blogosphere kaya naman ang ginawa ko today ay nanood ng sine at nag-food trip.

Kung meron silang regular coke float at sarsi float, this time, mayroon silang ni-oofer na flayvah!!!

Animo Red and Blue (blue and red)

Blue Bubblegum Giant size- 38 petot

Red Watermelon Solo size- 28 petot

Next time, tritry ko naman yung green and yellow.

Yellow Dalandan

at since natikmans ko na ang apat na flavah... eto ang ranking: (top to bottom) Blue, Yellow, Green, Red. :D

Ayan. komplets na. :D TC folks

Tag-a-Tag

Pesbuk, it ang social networking sites na popular as of the moment.

Magandang feature ang tagging pero minsan it is so annoying. Wow, inglish.

Like seriously?!?!?! Ampotaena!

Kaya inabot ako ng like almost 30 mins. untagging the pics na pinag-tatag nia at pasimple akong nagclick sa report this chuva link. Kainis langs!

Dr. Phil Test

I'm uber bored.

Over 60 points:
Others see you as someone they should 'handle with care'.  You're seen as vain, self-centered, and who is extremely dominant.  Others may admire you, wishing they could be more like you, but don't always trust you, hesitating to become too deeply involved with you

51 - 60 points:
Others see you as an exciting, highly volatile, rather impulsive personality, a natural leader, who's quick to make decisions, though not always the right ones.  They see you as bold and adventuresome, someone who will try anything once, someone who takes chances and enjoys an adventure..  They enjoy being in your company because of the excitement you radiate.

41 - 50 points:
Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, amusing, practical, and always interesting, someone who's constantly in the center of attention, but sufficiently well balanced not to let it go to their head.  They also see you as kind, considerate, and understanding, someone who'll always cheer them up and help them out...

31 - 40 points:
Others see you as sensible, cautious, careful & practical.  They see you as clever, gifted, or talented, but modest.  Not a person who makes friends too quickly or easily, but someone who's extremely loyal to friends you do make and who expect the same loyalty in return.  Those who really get to know you, realize it takes a lot to shake your trust in your friends, but equally that it takes you a long time to get over if that trust is ever broken.

21 -30 points:
Your friends see you as painstaking and fussy.  They see you as very cautious, extremely careful, a slow and steady plodder.  It would really surprise them if you ever did something impulsively or on the spur of the moment, expecting you to examine everything carefully from every angle and then, usually decide against it. They think this reaction is caused partly by your careful nature.

Under 21 points:
People think you are shy, nervous, and indecisive, someone who needs looking after, who always wants someone else to make the decisions and who doesn't want to get involved with anyone or anything! They see you as a worrier who always sees problems that don't exist.  Some people think you're boring.  Only those who know you well, know that you aren't.

As for me.... ang score ko ay 37. lols.

O cia, hanggang dito na lang, another tamadtamaran post lang to.
